All of your questions about murals answered
Q: What kind of paint do you use?
A: I use interior house paint and usually mix my own colors. Sometimes I will use acrylic paint for smaller details or areas where I really want to blend it out and house paint just won’t cut it.
Q: How much is it to get my own mural?
A: Each mural is priced based on the size, amount of detail, and time it takes to finish. If you are considering commissioning a mural, click here to go to the mural info page. This page has a contact form that will have you answer some questions and I will reply to you with a price estimate, from there we can book a date and create magic in your space! You do not have to be ready to book a mural to receive a quote :)
Q: Do you travel?
A: Yes! Please fill out the mural booking contact form here and add your location when booking. An additional fee will be added for travel and lodging.
Q: How long have you been painting murals?
A: I painted my first mural in 2018 and have created over 30 since then!
Q: I am an artist and want to paint murals, where do I start?
A: Painting murals is such a fun way to express yourself and your unique artistic style! It is also so much harder than it looks. The best advice I could give you is to just start somewhere and start now. You will learn everything you need to know along the way! Start with a friends wall and keep practicing! Best of luck and remember to enjoy the process
Q: How long does it take you to paint a mural?
A: Depends on the mural! A huge wall can take up a lot of time but a smaller wall that has a lot of detail can take up the same amount.
Q: How do you decide what to paint?
A: Every mural I have done so far has been a compromise between the client and my style. Usually the client will give me a general idea of the vibe and style they would like and any elements they would like to see. From there I really prefer to have creative freedom and create something organic and unique to my own style. I use a digital drawing program to send over a mock up drawing of the idea that is in my head, once we are both on the same page we book a date and jump in!
Q: Can you copy something I have seen another artist do?
A: If there is something you have seen elsewhere that you would like created for yourself, I am happy to check it out and draw inspiration from the piece however I will not copy another artist and will still create my own unique version. My best work comes when I feel freedom to let my creative brain wander and come up with my own ideas.
Q: How far out should I book a mural?
A: The farther out in advance you book, the better. This gives plenty of time to come up with a design and insure we can book dates that work best for you. I would recommend at least two months in advance at the latest.
